Does Google adopted the ideas from Diaspora?

Recently I joined Diaspora. Which is in alpha stage and signups are allowed only on invitation. I am just shocked how Google adopted many features from an unknown (almost) social network. Take a look inside and ask for invitation too..

Diaspora is a social network launched much before Google+. This site is already featured on mashable and other top blogs. But it may be interesting that a lot of feature of this site is same as google plus. Or, more correctly Google+ is just fine  upgrade  of Diaspora. Yesterday I joined Diaspora and just surprised that Google+ and Diaspora’s dashboard are almost same. Here take a look:

The Top Nav bars:

The Left Side Bars:

The right sidebar

The Stream:

It is interesting that both are using same verbs, like “stream”.

You may take a look at my profiles at Google+ and Diaspora

Visit my Google+ Profile and Diaspora profile and watch it live.

Diaspora is based on open source project which is developed by four students of New York University’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. The alpha version is available since November 2010 but an invitation is required to sign-up an account at diaspora.

Well, I have some invitations. If you are willing to have an account please follow me on twitter or create an account at our forum and ask for invitation. Your email will be required to send invitation at both Diaspora and Google plus.

Diaspora is in alpha stage and if you like some cool username their, you should do hurry before anyone else occupy the username.

One more thing I would like to share about diaspora:

Diaspora offers a unique app named  cubbi.es. Cubbi.es is used  to upload image to dropbox  without  downloading the file to your computer. If you like any image on the net simply press shift and click the image. The image will be saved to your dropbox and will be shared on Diaspora. This plugin is available for Google Chrome and  Firefox.
