India has now united against corruption and there is a great team behind it. Anna Hazare and its team has initiated the movement and now it gained huge support across the nation.
Anna Hazare Inc.
Their is a small team behind the whole campaign. Beside Mr. Hazare Arvind Kejeriwal, Kiran Bedi, Swami Agniwesh, Prashant Bhushan and Santi Bhushan are the key person of the movement. Their are some more people who have joined the campaign later. It is possible that you don’t know that Anna Hazare is awarded by Padmabhushan in 1992 and Padmashri in 1990, which are some of the prestigious awards given by Govt. of India. Well, In this post I will not talk about these persons and awards. If you want to know about them, I have included a few links at the end of the post.
The mission Impossible!
We all know that India is one of the most corrupt country? It’s really sad but we all know, it is true. You also agree that corruption exists from top to bottom in all departments.
It seems that judicial reforms (something similar to Janlokpal and RTI) were impossible in India. But, Now their is a hope because of these guys and the people of India.
The Technology!
Anna Hazare has a devoted team who spread the words through various methods. They have small dedicated technical team who continuously works on various Social Networks and sites also via SMS.
Electronic Media, Print Media: Their is no need to say about the importance of these type of media and it also exists from a long time. Print Media and Radio are used since a very long time, since existence of British Govt. in India.
Day by day Technology changes and now Electronic media particularly Cable TVs has made a big difference compared to then and now, even the JP Movement. Beside this, Internet is now emerged as game changer these days.
Anna and their team also know the importance of these things and they have used technology wisely.
Applications: The team has introduced a Nokia and Android Apps which can be downloaded from Nokia OVI and these applications will keep us updated about the movement.
Missed Call: They have unique SMS registration system for SMS alert. Which can be subscribed by just dialing 022-61550789. Your call will not me received and you will be registered.They do not spam you and send very low number of SMS. I got about 1 or 2 in a fortnight or less.
Website: It is again first time in India when a movement got a website and which are updated regularly. The Wikipedia page about India Against Corruption is also one of the regularly updated page on the web, Which is being updated multiple times in a day.
Social Media: Social media has played important role in recent movement across the globe these days, including rights in Great Britain also. The official twitter account has now 53,533 followers and on facebook page it has crossed 386,770 fans and the number is increasing exponentially. On http://www.orkut.co.in/Community?cmm=112969105, which is less trending these days, has also have 10000 members.
Email: However it may not be preferred method to stay informed for common people but they still share their email address which is indiaagainstcorruption.2010@gmail.com
IVRS: It is another trending service, which is mostly used by corporate sector and for customer support, But probably first time in India or possibly world, a movement have IVRS system. (Number is 0-9212123212)
and, more traditional methods of communications like Telephones and Letters already exists. So, it is quite clear that now a days, not only Electronic Media and print Media but Internet has been emerged as powerful weapon, Social media is not only a way to stay communicated with our love ones, but it has power to change a nation and thus the world.
Well in 21st century India is showing again the power of non-violence. I hope the mission (Mission Impossible) will be accomplished. We should get participate to get victory over corruption.
